I love the green of the fields coming to be,

A Clue: "wings"

  What happens when one is craving some yellow and brightness in their home...

Doesn't want to break the bank...

and

Takes a trip to Target?

Sees this placemat...

looks closely at the seams...

and

realizes it is two pieces sewn together?

This happens...

A placemat stuffed with batting and then sewn closed.

Look closer...

I love the yellow, stitched flowers!

The design reminds me of the bright, flower pillows my grandma used to have on her couch.

DIY Spring{y} Frame Art...

Happy Monday to You!

I am so excited to show you a new DIY Spring{y} craft...

that won't break the bank!

I love creating...

mixing textures...

trying new color combos.

Sometimes it goes well...

other times...

not so much.

Here is a clue....

...is for...

{HOME}

I've been seeing many different ideas for using moss this Spring.

I also love monograms.

So, I thought...

Why not take a frame and decorate it instead of a wreath?

And...

Wal-la!

...Something Spring{y} for my living room.

Here is how it all came together:

*Dollar Store, gold, frame spray painted with a color I had on hand. {Moss green}

*Chip board letter hot glued to a moss sheet (Dollar Store) then hot glued to the frame.

*Flowers made out of felt I already had and hot glued to the frame.

This can go many places...

1. On my entry table as shown above.

2. On my dining room mirror.

3. On my front door.

4.Hanging in my front window.

The possibilities are endless!

DIY Spring{y} Burlap.....???

Our new, super simple, really quick, cute, Spring{y} craft is...

An earring holder!

Thank you to Lindsey for the inspiration!!

Here are the details...

Are you ready?!

1. Take any old picture frame and remove the glass and backing.

2. Spray paint the color of your choice (I used Heirloom White I had on hand).

3. Cut a piece of burlap slightly larger than the opening of the frame.

4. Hot Glue the burlap to the back of the inside of the opening of the frame. {whew!}

Be careful it will be hot and seep through the holes!

5. Let it dry and hang your favorite earrings on it.

Why did I choose an earring holder like this?

~I love the handmade style.

~ I love the simplicity.

~I love how I can see my favorite earrings and not "forget" I have them.

I didn't hang it on the wall because I wanted to access it quickly and...

easily for those mornings I'm running late. ;)

And yes, if you are wondering...

I do have some more fun earrings to add.

DIY Spring{y} Recycled Sweater

 I came across an old sweater that no longer fits.

So, I decided to create some "Spring."

How you ask?

Like this...

* Trim sweater underneath the arms.

I used a rotary cutter, it worked much easier than scissors.

*Turn sweater inside out and sew the two open sides leaving a gap on one side to stuff.

I didn't bother with changing out my thread, I knew it would be hidden inside.

*Trim off bottom hem and turn right side out to stuff.

I kept the bottom hem of the sweater for something at the end. :)

*Whip-stitch the inside gap that you left to stuff it.

I added a ruffle with the left over hem and some flowers (all hot glued on).

*Place in my favorite reading area and...

Lately, I have been loving flowers, especially in fabrics.

The brighter, the bolder, the better.

{There is an especially cute rug at Target that I'm dreaming of. Oh, the restraint...}

So what do you get when you mix bright, bold flowers and green?

Because you all know I like love green...

You get this!

A very bright, happy, Spring{y} bulletin board!

I just love it!

It adds so much color...

It is very light weight...

Super easy to make...

The bulletin board I found at our local store for around $5.

The fabric and ribbon I already had.

So how did I make it?

 

* I used fabric glue to glue fabric to the cork board.

*I used ribbon to cover up the rough edges and used the same fabric glue.

*Hot glued the green ribbon to the back to make a hanger.

{Did I mention it was really, super light weight?}

*Make some flowers to go in the corner and hot glue on.

I just love it!

A beautiful yet Simply Created bulletin board.

I was inspired by her paint + glitter art.

With a few changes...

Here is what I came up with.

Supplies:

Glitter {Already had.}

Heart Cut-Out {Left over from this project.}

A board or canvas 

{This board came from the dollar store, I liked the raised middle and tan edges.}

Glue, yeah, you don't need this...don't know why it is in the picture.

Paint and brush {Already had.}

* I put my board on a sack to project the surface of my ironing board.

{Yep, I said ironing board. :0) It was where the best light was.}

*Paint your board or canvas.

(I piled on the paint for texture and left the edges raw and messy.)

*Place your heart cutout on the wet paint.

*Sprinkle glitter over the edges.

*Carefully remove the paper heart and you have.....

... Heart Art.

I choose brown and red since my kitchen is in those colors.

It can stay up past Valentines and still look in place.

{Craft Tutorial}:Heart Garland:Super Easy

After my fail at trying to sew Dollie hearts into garland...

I decided to take a different approach.

It still involves hearts,

a needle,

and

thread.

And, I love this idea so much more!

Just today, Ashley quoted, "Success is not found in perfection but in growing from our failures."

I love that!

Even though my first attempt at a sewn garland bit the dust, I didn't give up.

I took a little break...

Thought about what I wanted to do...

And,

Tried again!

For this garland I had everything I needed...

I cut out hearts in scrapbook paper that I already had...

Strung the hearts on thread...

Kept stringing...

Then I hung it in a favorite spot...

Do you have any better ideas than scotch tape to hang garland with?

This project was easy, quick, and free!
